Insulation Material
Features
Thermal conductivity - it measured in W/mk describes how good a material conducts heat.
Thermal Resistance - R-value (factor of thermal insulance) is a measure of thermal resistance. Higher r-value , the greater insulating effectiveness.
Thermal Transmittance - U-value is a measure of thermal transmittance. Lower the U-value , the better the insualtion.
Fire resistance - this factor is important as it can be of infulence on the application of insulation materials.
Surface emissivity - it is a factor by which we multiply the black body heat loss to make it clear that the ideal case is the black one.
Applications
Power and electronic systems
Cable
Transmission lines
Pipes
Electric rubber mats
